So I just got back from the imax experience of Spiderman. Entertaining, but I was disappointed and didn't really like it. Basically, not enough internal struggle and conflict from our neighborhood Spiderman.
Plus, maybe it's too much That 70's Show, but Topher Grace was not convincing. He did an alright job though.
I have to say though, I really like Mary Jane. I get the same feeling about her that I did from Natalie Portman's character in Garden State. I have no idea why. I can't really pinpoint it. There is actually nothing special about her in this movie. I think it has more to do with Mary Jane is in the grand story.
She is this awesome girl that the average, if not dorky guy, gets. By all normal standards, he should not be able to get her. But she picks him. I mean, she turned down Harry and some astronaut dude to be with Peter Parker. I also think it's awesome how she always says "Go get 'em Tiger." The woman behind the man. She is always there with her support. I mean, not really in the movies, but more so in the comics.
So it begs the question, who's my Mary Jane? I guess only time will tell.
