Spontaneous.

So yesterday was Friday. Fridays are actually pretty mellow in Irvine these days. My company formed a softball team and joined a league. I'm not on the team though, they didn't want me. No, not really. I don't really like baseball or softball. Something about not being a good hitter. No form on my part.

But either way, sometimes I make it out to cheer them on. I got there yesterday and they were losing pretty bad. You could tell everyone just blah about it. But I think they had done. I played the role of owner with random nonsensical, and usually utterly false words of encouragement. Looking good out there guys.

So after the game we all grabbed some food, then on the way home I decided to randomly go to Los Angeles.

It's been a while since I have been this spontaneous about things. I think as you get older you tend to lose that in you. You develop responsibilities that force you into the habit of planning trips, making sure loose ends are tied up before going. Then that mindset seeps into all other facets of your life.

But yeah, random drive. I actually got on the freeway ready to go on a drive somewhere, but I had no destination. Then maybe my mind subconsciously knew where it wanted to be, so I drove north on a bunch of freeways and found myself on the good old five.

I got there, and I think Moon was already asleep. She didn't pick up her phone even though I called her like twenty times in a row. So here I am thinking, man what a bust. And there's actually no way to get into her building without her help, or someone elses.

I'm circling around her apartment thinking about what to do. I was actually contemplating hopping a fence. Then I see a car pull into her garage on the other side of the street from me. It was some random persons car, not important to the story except for the fact it's a car. So using my super fast reflexes, I drive half a block forward, bust a U-turn in the middle of the street, park in a red zone, set my hazards, and start running to the garage. Remember though, I'm getting old so my reflexes are kind of slow now.

So I get to the garage gate just as it's closing. I swear, it was all Indiana Jones type stuff. Well, not really. But still.

Long story short, I managed to see Moon for ten minutes then I drove back to Irvine.

It was weird, but I just really wanted to see her. Two hour drive for ten minutes of face time. Totally worth it. I'd do it again.
