Don't Do It!

I feel like that's a good, useful phrase in many situations.

So the year is coming to end. Normally this is the time where one looks back and reflects on this past year. I could, but it's been such a long year with a lot of stuff going on so it's going to be hard to reflect. Moreover, I would have to think about it for a while so I'll skip that for now.

If anything, I've been looking back at the last two months. It's definitely been an eye opening experience of the last two months. I had two major meetings, of not official business reasons. One was a distant hope that all seemed to fall into place. The other an expected reality that would more than not inevitable happen.

Both left me with that anti climatic feeling. Yet, now that I look back at it both left me with some kind of closure, one way or another. Even when it was totally not needed. But part of me can't help but feel disappointed in the change or lack of change that happened in time passed.

Makes me wonder how I look from the outside.

For Christmas I hopped into my car and headed home. Definitely another experience in and of itself. I didn't get to see a whole lot of people, but in reality I saw the people I really wanted to set out to see.

The most interesting part of going home this time was going home though. I ended up having Saturday mostly at home, digging and exploring through the vast storages of the house. I found so many amazing things from when I was a kid. I looked through some photo albums that I rarely look through. This was really one of those going home type scenarios that plays out as a stereotype, but is actually pretty fun when it happens to you.

Both to and from I headed on the road about 3am or 4am. Driving down at that hour is pretty nice because you get to see the sun rise along the horizon, but it also sucks because you have to see the sun rise along the horizon. I took a picture with my phone that I'll probably upload to somewhere.

All in all, it was a good trip home.
