That Hole.

So it's been a while since I've posted anything. Mostly because I don't have the interweb at home. But that's changing soon.

I recently bought a sofa and a television, that set me back quite a bit. Moving sucks.

So, I went to Las Vegas the past weekend and lost a hundred dollars or so. The drive to Vegas isn't all that bad if there's no traffic. The tough part was that Saturday.

I went with a coworker who is going to go back to Korea around Thanksgiving. So, his gives him little time to cram all the things he wanted to do. One of them was go to the Grand Canyon. So, off from Las Vegas we head towards the Grand Canyon.

On the way there, we stop at this Popeye's to eat. It's connected to a gas station. On our way out, I run into this Irish or Scottish man, towing a stripped Evo. I figure, we're at a gas stop why not just chat people up. So I asked him what he's doing and stuff. He told me he's from New York and was in Nevada for a race. I guess it was the last race of the season and he wanted to catch up in points.

Story goes he blew a piston on stage 2. The guy he was trying to catch up to ended up flipping. So it was almost all for nothing. But still, it got me thinking about those days when I used to be crazy about the WRC. I mean, not as much as I could be since rally is the most underappreciated sport in this country, but still. I should search for some videos on Youtube.

What really got me was the dedication. I mean, this isn't the WRC. It was probably just him and his c0-driver trailering the Evo all the way across the country. That drive probably sucks since they are towing something. And just think about the prep work. They have to be prepared for anything. Like I said, it's not the WRC. They don't have a crew to take care of these things for them, it's all on their own heads.

Yet Nascar drivers get a pit crew.

It reminds me of table tennis. That stuff is crazy anywhere outside the United States. Sometimes I want to leave.

So we finally get to the Grand Canyon. My gosh that thing is huge and gorgeous. I mean, I've seen it in pictures and actually in person as a kid. I'll admit, I don't remember much. But when you get there, and you catch your first glimpse, you cannot help but be awed by it's wonder.

And for the record, no. We did not go on Skywalk. That thing is overpriced and on the wrong part of the canyon. North and south is where it's at. Actually, I heard it was nice. Just the actual canyon view around, not under, kind of sucks.

So after driving five hours, we make it there. Do the touristy picture taking for an hour. Then drive another five hours back to Las Vegas. I drove a lot this weekend.

So in Vegas we got comp at Bally's. Long story, not involving me, but we got comp. It just sounds cool to say that. It makes me feel like I'm special enough to get comped. But in reality the story is not that fascinating.

Mon Ami Gabi again. Steak needed more peppercorn. It really is one of my favorite places to eat though. We got a seat outside because it was late. I imagine it would be hard normally though.

Saw a listing for a $777 burger. Kobe beef is great and all, but why would it be worth it if it's ground up? Burger place in Paris is not worth it if you've been to The Counter or some other place like it.

Last place was Bellagio buffet. It's a buffet, how can you go wrong?

buffets always go wrong with the sushi section.
