Viva La Something.

So, this is a pretty random update. I just realize it's been a while so it's about time.

I've begun to realize the importance of people that work for you. I mean, I always understood the concept that the people that work for you can make all the difference in the world. For example, at BEARcade it was important to higher reliable people or else I would end up having to be there at random hours.

But I think there is a second part of that relationship. As a manager or leader, you need to be able to fully trust that person to do the job their way, even if it's not your way. I think I have problems with that. And there needs to be a one to one relationship. Meaning, one person should only have one boss they directly report to. Higher people need not be involved, I think. At least when it comes to giving conflicting orders.

A week ago or so I got Coldplay's new album. While, in and of itself it is a good album, I still have to say I like X&Y better. So, not disappointed at all. Just a casual comment.

In other news, I saw Wall-E yesterday night. That movie is so cute. In addition, there are so many underlying themes, or Easter eggs I guess. Talk about showboating the Pixar relationship with Steve Jobs. But I guess that's what makes Pixar who they are.

At the end of the day though, Kung Fu Panda wins. Animation would better, and there was more of plot/story. Wall-E was great, don't get me wrong. But if I had to pick a favorite this summer in the computer animated movie department, Kung Fu Panda wins.

Last weekend I went home. I ended up taking the BART to RBC. Well, Caltrain and BART. It was really refreshing to go up the peninsula and not be driving. It was relaxing. I saw a lot of old places. When I think of it, it was kind of loser type doing all that on my own. But, at the time, and even now, I don't really feel that way. I guess I really do enjoying doing things on my own.

Had some Top Dog, met some friends and got a ride back to San Mateo. Good old Hotaru. I never get sick of that place.

A lot of things don't change all that much.

I can't believe Ming is moving. I'm still in some kind of disbelief I think. No more hoping on a plan and going to hang out in Arizona. Not that I would in this retarded time of the year known as summer, but I'm always more than down in the spring. But yeah, I guess we will have to see where God takes everyone in the next few years.

Yeah being a manager I have learned not to micromanage. And I totally agree with the reporting to one person.

It was good seeing you, I hope the next two years brings you back to the Bay.
