Wow, it's been an eventful few days since I last updated.
Last Wednesday was my birthday. Thanks everyone for all the birthday wishes. Katherine organized a super secret party for me. It was lots of fun. I was really surprised to see that many people come out. I'm not one of those people that likes to attract attention to myself. I tent to fly under the radar, so it was nice to see people come out.
I felt bad though, because I ordered a bit too much food and so people have to pay more for food they didn't eat. At least they all took some home.
Then on Friday we were suppose to go to the Tech Museum, but didn't have time. At least we got to try out this restaurant I'd been itching to try. It's called Shabuway in San Mateo. I guess they are opening on in Mountain View too. The decor is like uber trendy Asian like, and it's basically shabu shabu. It was my first experience with kobe beef. I don't know what all the hooplah is about. I'll admit, it's good, but not that good. So yeah, the place was nice though. I liked it lots. Definately worth going to, at least in my opinion.
Then I did lots of driving. If ever I had any doubts about buying my car, they are all gone. He was like uber trooper this weekend, and got us through some tight spots. All wheel drive is best. It was only Saturday that I really needed it, but nonetheless.
Saturday was also my first time ever snowboarding. It was a lot of fun, but I don't know how people can do it regularly. First off, it's expensive. And it's a hassle. Probably doesn't help that the first time I go, there is hella snow so we get stuck trying to leave. But yeah, it just seems like so much just to go boarding. I don't know if I would consider doing it regularly. I won't deny it was a lot of fun though. Perhaps if it was closer. And cheaper.
Then on Sunday, we had fun trying to get everyone unstuck again and on the road home. Luckily everyone I went with made it home safely. Unfortunately half of us didn't make it back in time for church.
To somewhat salvage the situation, we went to Sonics in Woodland. That's right, the random burger drive in that is located in random areas. It's those ads on television, but I've been itching to go for a while. It just seemed like such a waste to so far to try it. This time, it was only a fifteen minute detour though. So why not. It was good. The onion rings were the best I've had in a while though. I wanted to try everything one the menue, but opted for a burger. It wasn't bad, but not worth driving there just to get.
So all in all, fun weekend plus more. But now it's back to the regular routine of life. =)
