The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn. Or so says Emerson. Something to think about.
So this weekend went by in a flash. Below is the link to some pictures from Coldplay.

Saturday morning we woke up super early to head out to Alameda Point for the event formerly known as Mazda RevItUp. ZoomZoomLive doesn't sound as cool. Anyhow, it was a good time, but not as fun as last year. Last year there was a lot more freedom in what you could do. There just weren't as many options this year, but it was still fun.
First thing we tried out was this course where you take a MX5, put a bowl with three golf balls on the hood, and see how fast you can make it around the track without losing the balls. Interesting ideal. I lose one ball just starting, and then I lose the other two in the first turn. Indeed.
Then drove the Mazda3 and Mazda5 a couple of times. Finally, we take the MX5 on a performance course. Waiting in line sucks, so in order to maximize my fun I decide to pick a manual. I was amazed actually, that they would even have manual tranmission cars for people to drive. They had a lot actually. That was definately cooler that last year. So yeah, I get in a manual and take a spin around the track. No stalling, nothing. Pretty good, and I think I got a good time too. But, the timer messed up so I will never know. But I get to go again.
By now Katherine has finished her go, and hops into my car. I get my rolling start, push it into second for the first turn that happens to be a hairpin. The turn I have no problem with. I clear the turn and gun it. I didn't really floor it, I think. The next thing I know, my front wheels can't handle the traction or something, because I spin out. Katherine yells very loud.
That is the fun of real wheel drive. I finish up my lap, and the guy gives me a warning and a big fat sharpie mark on my name tag. We decide it's probably time to go. We grab our free hot dog and leave.
In other news, I'm still waiting. The new timeline is end of August. Looks like I might end up going to more school.
